The sky was fantastic, the air experience flights went smoothly and we provided those with gifts for an adrenaline rush in the air memories that they will never forget!

The 2024 Season has come to a close. We flew both the Tandem Paraglider and the Tandem Hang Glider from our sites at Putsborough and Woolacombe which stand tall above Woolacombe Bay in Devon. Flying with the birds, soaring the coastline, we had those who had birthday presents, christmas gifts and surprises all on the hill learning about the joy of free-flying.

We will restart Tandem flying in February 2025. You can see out calendar and availability at the bottom of our home page. You have the option to buy a flying gift in the South-West of England too by choosing a Gift Voucher.

Offering both Paragliding and Hang Gliding Air Experiences we have two flying instructors with a wealth of knowledge and experience to share the sky and point out the beauty of flying with the birds.

You can see our availability on the bottom of our webpage - showing which dates and what times of day we fly. Remember it is a weather dependent activity so we do sometimes have to reschedule due to the conditions.

The evenings are starting to draw out and the sun is starting to show it's face a bit more now!

Our schedule for this year is to fly the Tandem Paraglider up to March and then both the Tandem Paraglider and Tandem Hang Glider from the end of March onwards.

Unsure of the difference between the two? See the pictures below..

We are in effect flying in the same air, except the Paraglider is usually in lighter winds whereas the Hang Glider allows for a higher wind speed.

Our sites are based around North Devon - Woolacombe, Putsborough and Trentishoe.

With the continuation of the Covid-19 Virus, following the guidelines set by the UK government we regrettably announce that we will suspend all our Tandem Air Experience flying until March 2021.

We will review the situation with the BHPA, our national association and with the guidance of the UK Government during the week of the 22nd February and amend our dates accordingly at that time.

We will continue to monitor this and provide updates here on any changes in dates and advice from the UK government in relation to our activities.

We are still accepting new bookings and continue to offer our very flexible 2 year validity period which would commence on 1st April 2021.

]]> Mon, 29 Jun 2020 08:25:20 +0000 /blog-100-update--dual-flying-earmarked-to-recommence-july-2020 Air Experience Tandem/Dual Flying Update - COVID 19 /blog-99-air-experience-tandemdual-flying-update--covid-19 With the new recovery strategy set out by the UK Government and Public Health England, in conjunction with our National Association, the BHPA we are looking to follow these BHPA guidelines:

"The Association anticipates a three-phase restarting of its activities, beginning with an initial phase of flying activity by qualified pilots only (Club Pilot and above). Phase two will be solo training at BHPA schools. Phase three will be dual air experience flights and dual flights for passengers who are not members of the pilot's household. Phase 3 will only be authorised upon the issuing of guidance on proximity between members of the public, that can be applied effectively to dual flying."

As our Air Experience flights are considered "dual flying" we will be looking to restart under Phase 3 of this program.

To that effect, the BHPA are planning to issue guidelines on how this will work in the next few weeks. Once we have reviewed this information for compliancy and ensure the safety of our clients we will provide an update on when we will recommence flying.

In order to provide flexibility for those who currently have a voucher for a flight, we will EXTEND all vouchers that are due to expire this year to 31ST DECEMBER 2020. For those people who are booked in to fly between now and the 1st July 2020 we will be in contact to organise booking future dates.

We are still accepting new bookings and continue to offer our very flexible 2 year validity period which would commence on 1st June 2020.

Looking ahead September, October and November are great months for flying. The sea temperature is holding around 15 degrees so as the land continues to cool we have perfect conditions for warm air getting pushed up over the coastline to provide great lift for soaring.

The long range forecast isn't too promising for flying. The jet stream has shifted, bringing in periods of warm fronts and the accompanying rain with it. We are watching ahead after the 7th August to see if the conditions will change on the August synopsis.

That means soaring conditions for Tandem Hang gliding flights in Woolacombe, North Devon on one of the south west's most spectacular coastline areas.

The synopsis shows a cold front moving through with winds coming from the West North West direction tomorrow.

Saturday is looking similar as well. Last week we have a great day on Monday - flying all day and into the evening.
