This week looks messy, watching the weekend 9/10 May
Two low pressure systems running across the UK is bring us the wet windy weather this week. We may get a small window on Saturday so check in again towards the end of the week.

The weather is looking good for flying at Woolacombe on Wednesday and Thursday this week. If you have a voucher and you are available then please let us know by calling or texting 07875 247389.
Monday was an awesome day flying, see pictures of Kirk and Louise below!
Happy Birthday Kirk! You picked a beautiful day to Fly Like a Bird! In the wonderful company of Louise from Knowle we spent a fantastic afternoon on the hill at Woolacombe. After waiting for the rain showers to clear through the sky blued out and we went flying!
Louise pulled the short straw and went first. Soaring 200 feet above a buzzard who was oblivious to us above him was extraordinary! We took a scoot down over Woolacombe itself watching the world go by below us.
Kirk was now primed and ready to go. The birthday boy got a exhilarating flight climbing in punchy thermals to over 1100 feet above the beach. I am so glad you got to fly on your birthday and your patience was well rewarded! Happy days!!!
The warmer weather brings with it a stationary high pressure sitting over the UK. Unfortunately this means we will be having easterly winds in North Devon, which is not what we need for flying at Woolacombe :-(
Will update you all next week once the weather systems from the Atlantic Ocean start to push through again.
Saturday at Woolacombe brought fresh on-shore winds for Tandem Flying. Sally and Mike had to be quite patient as we waited for the gusts to drop off. By 3pm though, Sally took to the skies, climbing to a 1000 feet above the beach and following the birds into the strong spring thermals.
Mike was next, 4th time lucky visiting the hill waiting for the right conditions! However, he was rewarded with a fantastic half hour flight, catching some strong lift up to 2 metre's per second at times. To top the day off we saw a kestrel climbing towards Putsborough so we parked ourselves underneath him. We immediately climbed to 300 feet above the hill before swooping into the back field and landing safely on the wheels.
Great days flying - thank you both for your patience. Next week we are keeping an eye on Wednesday for flying at Woolacombe
The High Pressure over the UK is due to finally move and we should see some onshore winds at Woolacombe this weekend. If you are booked in please contact us on Friday for a weather update. Last weekend was too light - even the paraglider was struggling to keep his wing in the air!
