After visiting the site that we fly from last week, the ground is wet, with more unsettled weather in the forecast. We will update you in the New Year once the weather improves and the ground starts to dry out further.
As a reminder we fly our Tandem Hang Glider in the South West from Woolacombe Downs which is in North Devon above the coastline of Woolacombe Bay. See our page here for more pre-flight information: http://flylikeabird.co.uk/about-us/pre-flight-information.php
Back from a warm and sunny Canada and the weekend is looking wet and windy in the South West of England. With a couple of low pressure systems rolling in off the Atlantic it doesn't look great for the next 5 days. Ahead of that we may get a break in the weather towards the end of the week for Tandem Hang Gliding at Woolacombe. We will keep you posted.
We are closed from tomorrow until the 7th November taking a break from flying. We will update this page when we return to let you know what the forecast is looking like for Tandem Hang Gliding at Woolacombe. We generally fly up until the end of November, and then re-start around the middle of February.
We had some great Tandem Hang Gliding Flights in the South West last week, taking a group of four people flying over Woolacombe Bay on Wednesday.
Some fantastic climbs up to almost 1400 feet above the beach at times. The long range however does not look favourable for flying at Woolacombe. We are forecasted winds from the East all week; when we start seeing some westerly winds on the radar we will update you.
